When I first saw the title of this post, I thought you meant that people just wanted to keep working. I am one of those that would like to retire but can not. It looks like I will be working a long time but that is so true for a lot of us. Thank you for posting the stats.
I believe the Western world needs to rethink retirement. It’s a new concept that leads to people dying much earlier than they probably would have had they considered in meaningful work well into old age.
Of course, at the same time we need to rethink how we take care of ourselves, and how children treat their elderly parents…
